Bulk QR codes

Bulk QR code generator: a spreadsheet in, labelled codes out

Paste links or text, or upload a CSV, TSV or XLSX. Every code is named, can have its label printed underneath, and is listed in an index file in the ZIP. Your logo and colours apply to the whole batch. Up to 1,000 at a time, free, no sign-up.

Only the content column is needed. Up to 1,000 rows per batch. Download the example spreadsheet.

How to generate QR codes in bulk

This batch QR code generator makes one code per row of your list and hands you a single ZIP. It is free, needs no sign-up, and is private by default: we don't keep your list.

  1. Add your list. Paste links or text, one per line, or paste or upload a spreadsheet. The separator and the header row are detected for you.
  2. Choose the look. Pick colours and an optional logo, or use the style you saved in the QR code generator.
  3. Check the preview. Every row is shown with its row number and label. Bad rows are flagged and skipped, and each code is read back with a scanner to prove it works.
  4. Create the ZIP. Choose PNG, SVG or both, and optionally a printable label sheet. Press Create and the codes are made on your device.

How do I tell the QR codes apart?

With hundreds of codes, the hard part is knowing which is which. Four things help, and you can use them together:

Need a numbered series, such as tables 1 to 40? The Number Generator takes a prefix, start, end or count, step, zero padding and suffix, and writes the same number into the code (where you put {n}), the file name and the printed label, so they always match.

Spreadsheet format for bulk QR codes

Only content is required. Put these headers in the first row, in any order. Common alternatives such as url, link, text or data for content, name for filename, title for label and qty for copies work too.

Download the example spreadsheet to start from a working file. The old two-column format, content then file name, still works. In Excel or Google Sheets, save as CSV or upload the .xlsx file. Our guide to QR codes in Excel and Google Sheets also shows how to put the images back into the spreadsheet.

Print QR codes on Avery label sheets

Tick Printable Label Sheet and the ZIP also contains sheet.pdf, laid out for your stickers. You can also download just the sheet.

Print at 100% (“Actual size”), not “Fit to page”, and try one sheet on plain paper first. For bulk barcodes on label sheets, use the bulk barcode generator, or the barcode label generator.

What each row can hold

Each row becomes one QR code. Most people use web addresses: product pages, menu links, review links or unique ticket pages. Plain text works too, such as a serial number, an asset ID or a short message, and a phone camera will show that text when it scans the code. If you need a contact card or calendar code, make it one at a time in the QR code generator, where each type has its own form. A Wi-Fi code can be pasted as WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;;.

Bulk QR code generator with logo

Many mass QR code tools charge extra for bulk or for styled codes. Here, every code in the batch uses the look you set: code and background colours, an optional logo, and the dot shapes, corners and frame from your saved style. When a logo is present, error correction is raised automatically so each code still scans, and the page tells you how much text one code can then hold.

Every code is read back with a scanner before you download, and the preview shows how many scan OK. Still test one printed code with your phone or the QR code scanner, and test the code with the longest link as well, because longer content makes a denser code.

PNG or SVG for bulk QR codes

For printed sizes, follow our guide to QR code size for printing: at least 2 × 2 cm for close-up scanning.

Can one QR code hold multiple links?

No. A QR code opens one thing when it is scanned. If you want a single code that leads to several links, put the links on one web page, such as a link-in-bio page or a page on your own site, and make a QR code for that page with the link to QR code tool.

If you want many codes, one for each link, that is what this page is for. Paste the list and you get a separate code for every line.

Tips for printing a batch of QR codes

Most label and layout programs, such as InDesign data merge or Word mail merge, can place images by file name, so named files save a lot of manual work.

Popular uses for bulk QR codes

Bulk QR codes for developers

If you need codes generated automatically, for example one per order or per new product, a script is a better fit than a manual batch. Our guide to generating QR codes in Python, PHP, Java and Node shows the libraries to use and how to keep the codes readable.

Free, no sign-up, private by default

The bulk generator is free with no sign-up and no watermark, up to 1,000 codes per batch. Run another batch if you need more. The codes are made in your browser, and the tool is private by default.

Every code is static: the link or text is stored in the code itself, so there is no service behind it to switch off. The trade-off is that you cannot change a code after printing. Editable dynamic codes with scan analytics are coming soon with NeoReader Pro. Read static vs dynamic QR codes to decide which you need.

FAQ

Questions

How do I create multiple QR codes at once?

Paste your links or text above, one per line, or upload a CSV, TSV or XLSX file. Press Create and you get a ZIP with one QR code file per row, plus index.csv and a proof sheet.

Is the bulk QR code generator free, with no sign-up?

Yes. Bulk generation is free, with no sign-up, no watermark, and your logo and colours included. It is private by default.

How do I tell the QR codes apart?

Name each file from a filename column, print a label under each code, and use the index.csv and proof-sheet.pdf in every ZIP. The Number Generator keeps the code, file name and printed label in step.

What spreadsheet format do I need?

A header row with content (required) and optional filename, label, sublabel, copies, fg_color and bg_color. Aliases such as url, name and qty work. Download the example spreadsheet to start. The old content, filename format still works.

Can I add a logo to bulk QR codes?

Yes. Add your logo in the tool, or use the style you saved in the QR code generator. Error correction is raised automatically so each code still scans.

Can I print bulk QR codes on Avery label sheets?

Yes. Tick Printable Label Sheet and pick Avery L7160, L7163, L7651, 5160, 5163 or 5167 on A4 or Letter, or set a custom grid. You can start at any label, print copies and add cut marks. Print at 100%.

Can I generate QR codes from an Excel spreadsheet?

Yes. Upload the .xlsx file, or save the sheet as CSV first. Format a column of numbers as Text if you need to keep leading zeros.

How many QR codes can I make at once?

Up to 1,000 per batch. For more, split your list and run another batch. There is no daily limit.

How do I know the codes scan?

Each code is read back with a scanner before you download, and the preview shows how many scan OK. Any failure is flagged and marked in index.csv. Still test a printed sample.

Can one QR code open multiple links?

No, a QR code opens one thing. Put the links on one web page and make a code for that page, or use this tool to make a separate code for each link.

Which format is best for printing bulk QR codes?

SVG, because it stays sharp at any size. Choose PNG by print size (millimetres and dpi) if your printer needs images.

Do bulk QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes with your content stored inside, so there is no service behind them to switch off. They keep working for as long as your links do.
