Remove pages from a PDF by sight
Deleting by page number is easy to get wrong. Here every page appears as a thumbnail, so you can see exactly which page you are removing: the blank back of a scan, a cover sheet, a duplicate, or pages you should not be sharing.
This is NeoReader's page organiser, opened with deleting in mind. If you spot a sideways page or one in the wrong place while you are there, you can rotate or move it too.
How to delete pages from a PDF
- Add your PDF. Each page appears as a thumbnail.
- Press delete on every page you want to remove.
- Check the remaining pages are complete and in order.
- Download the new PDF.
Why remove pages in the browser
People often delete pages because of what is on them: account numbers, a colleague's details, an internal note. Sending the whole file to a website to remove those pages defeats the point. iLovePDF, Smallpdf, Sejda, PDF24 and Adobe Acrobat online all do the work on their servers.
Here the PDF is edited in your browser and is never sent to our servers. There is no account, no watermark and no daily task limit. The only limit is your device: a very long PDF takes a while to show every thumbnail on a phone.
- Private by default: the file stays on your device.
- No sign-up and no watermark.
- Text stays selectable, because pages are removed, not redrawn.
When removing pages is the right fix
Deleting a page removes it from the new file completely, not just from view. The pages you keep are copied exactly as they were, so the result looks the same as the original, only shorter.
If you are removing pages for privacy, also check the pages you keep. Details often repeat in headers, footers and summary pages, and deleting one page does not remove information that appears elsewhere in the file.
The download is a new PDF. Your original file is not touched, so if you remove the wrong page you can add the same file again and start over.
- Blank pages from double-sided scanning of single-sided sheets.
- Cover sheets, fax headers and separator pages.
- Duplicate pages from scanning the same sheet twice.
- Terms and conditions pages that the recipient does not need.
- Pages with details you should not share, such as other people's information in a group document.
- Draft or superseded pages in a document that went through several versions.
Keep pages instead of deleting them
If you want to keep only a few pages out of a long document, it is quicker to use Split PDF and type the range you want, such as 1-3, 5. If you need the removed pages as their own file, split first, then delete.
