One QR extension, three browsers

What the extension does

A Google Chrome QR code generator, back in the toolbar

Chrome used to show a QR code icon right in the address bar. It has since been removed: the option now sits inside the share options in Chrome's menu, and the code it makes has a dinosaur in the middle and no design choices.

NeoReader QR puts a Chrome QR code generator back where it is quick to reach, and adds colours, logos and a scanner that Chrome never had.

How to create a QR code for a page

Prefer the browser's own option? In Chrome, open the menu, look in the share options and choose Create QR code. Menu names change between versions, and the result is a plain PNG.

  1. Add NeoReader QR to your browser from its add-on store and pin it to the toolbar.
  2. Open the page you want to share.
  3. Click the NeoReader QR icon. A code for the page appears straight away.
  4. Download or copy it, or right-click a link or selected text to make a code for that instead.
  5. Want a logo, frame or gradient? Press Design to open the full designer with the page already filled in.

A Microsoft Edge and Firefox QR code generator too

Edge's built-in QR option has moved around between versions, and Firefox has none built in on the desktop. NeoReader QR gives both the same one-click code, the same scanner and the same safety checks as Chrome, so you can switch browsers without learning a new tool.

How do I create a QR code for a page in my browser?

With NeoReader QR, click the toolbar icon on any page in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Without an extension, Chrome has a plain Create QR code option in its share menu.
