How a video QR code generator works
A QR code cannot hold a video. Even a short clip is thousands of times bigger than the largest code. What every video QR code generator actually does is encode a link to a video stored somewhere else. Scan it, and the phone opens that link in YouTube, Vimeo or the browser.

- Upload the video to YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive or your own website if it is not online already.
- Copy its share link. On Drive, set sharing to anyone with the link first, or scanners will see a sign-in page.
- Paste the link into the Link field above.
- Add a frame label such as "Watch the video" and your colours or logo.
- Scan with your phone to check it plays, then download.

A timestamp is worth using. YouTube's share box has a Start at option that adds the time to the link, so the code skips the intro and lands on the part that matters.

Adding a play button or YouTube logo
You can upload any image into the centre of the code. A simple play triangle tells people there is a video before they scan. If you want the YouTube logo itself, follow YouTube's brand guidelines and make clear it is your channel, not YouTube. Your own channel icon is often the better choice. It is yours, it matches your thumbnails, and viewers who already know you will recognise it.
Will the video QR code keep working?
The code contains the link directly, so it works for as long as the video stays at that address. If you delete the video, make it private, or re-upload it, the link changes and you need a new code.
