Lightshot and NeoReader: the short version
Lightshot is a popular free screenshot tool. It comes as a desktop app for Windows and Mac and as a browser extension, and it is built around one fast job: drag a box, mark it up, then save it or upload it to its sharing site, prnt.sc, for a short link.
NeoReader Full Page Screenshot is an independent extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Lightshot. It covers the same drag-an-area job inside the browser, and adds full page capture of long, scrolling pages, a blur tool and PDF export, all free.

- Install NeoReader Full Page Screenshot for Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
- Pin it to the toolbar so the icon sits where your Lightshot icon was.
- Set a keyboard shortcut in your browser's extension shortcut settings.
- Open a page, choose select area, full page or visible part, and try the editor.
- Save as PNG, JPG or PDF, or copy it. Keep both installed while you compare.
Sharing links versus keeping screenshots local
The main difference is where the screenshot goes. Lightshot's upload gives you a link in seconds, which is handy for quick sharing. Keep in mind that anything posted to a public sharing link can be seen by anyone who has that link, so it is worth a second look before you upload a screenshot with an email address or an order number in it.
NeoReader does not host screenshots. You save the file or copy it, then share it through the chat, email or ticket system you already use. For screenshots of dashboards, invoices or customer records, blurring the private parts first and keeping the file on your own device is the safer habit.
Which one should you choose
If you mostly screenshot desktop apps outside the browser, a desktop tool such as Lightshot, or the one built into your operating system, is the right fit. If you want a share link the moment you capture, Lightshot does that well.
If most of what you capture is on the web, a browser extension covers more ground: whole articles, long receipts and full landing pages in one image, private details blurred, and a PDF when someone asks for a document instead of a picture.
