How to convert JPG to PDF
- Add your images: drop them on the tool or pick them from your device.
- Drag them into the order you want the pages to appear.
- Choose a page size: fit to image, A4 or US Letter.
- Choose portrait or landscape, and set the margins.
- Download your PDF.
Page size, orientation and margins
- Fit to image: each page takes the exact shape of its image. Best for on-screen reading.
- A4: the standard paper size in the UK and most of the world. Pick it when the PDF may be printed.
- US Letter: the standard in the US and Canada.
- Landscape suits wide photos and charts, portrait suits documents and phone photos.
- Margins add white space around each image, so nothing is cut off at the edge when printed.
Tips for a tidy image PDF
A PDF made from photos is a set of pictures, so the text in it cannot be selected or searched. OCR to a searchable PDF is not available yet. If you need to copy the words from a photo, use Screenshot to text on the image first, then keep the PDF for sending.
- Crop photos before you add them, so desks, fingers and backgrounds do not end up in the PDF.
- Take photos of documents in good, even light and straight on, so the text is easy to read.
- Use fit to image for on-screen reading, A4 or Letter when someone will print it.
- Add a small margin for printing, since many printers cannot print right to the edge.
- Very large photos make large PDFs. If the file is too big to send, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.
- Name the downloaded file clearly, such as the date and what it contains.
