How it works

Safe scanning

How do I scan a QR code on my computer?
Take a screenshot of the code and paste it on this page, or drop the image in. Or use your webcam with the camera option. The NeoReader QR extension can also scan codes on any web page in one click.
Is it safe to scan QR codes?
The code itself is harmless, but the link inside might not be. NeoReader shows you the destination first and warns about look-alike sites, hidden destinations and other common tricks before you open it.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Images and camera video are decoded inside your browser and discarded. Nothing is sent to NeoReader or anyone else.
Which barcodes can it read?
QR codes (including Micro QR), Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF, Codabar and DataBar.
