NeoReader Dark Mode ("the extension") is published by NeoReader, operator of neoreader.com.

What the extension does with your data

No access to websites until you choose. At install the extension can't see or change any website. Clicking its button or pressing its shortcut darkens only the tab you're on (the browser's activeTab permission).
Per-site access, only when you ask. Choosing "Always dark" on a site asks your browser for access to that one site, so it can be dark before the page appears. "Dark everywhere" asks for access to all websites, only when you switch it on. Stopping or removing a site gives the access back.
The extension never reads page content. It adds a style sheet to the page and checks the page's background colour to leave already-dark sites alone. Nothing about the page is stored or sent.
Settings stay on this device: your look (mode, sliders), schedule, your list of sites and a list of sites seen to be dark already, in the browser's local extension storage.
