NeoReader QR: privacy policy
Last updated 23 September 2026. NeoReader QR (“the extension”) is published by NeoReader, operator of neoreader.com.
What the extension does with your data
- Codes are made on your device. Your code contains exactly what you typed. It never points at a NeoReader server, so we never see who scans it.
- Scanning happens on your device. When you scan the page, an area or an image, the picture is decoded inside your browser and discarded.
- Link safety checks are local. Scanned links are checked against built-in rules. Nothing is looked up online.
- Logos you save with your style stay in your browser's storage on this device.
- Scan history is off by default. If you switch it on, up to 200 recent scans are stored on this device only; switching it off deletes them.
- The “Design” button opens neoreader.com with your content in the part of the address after “#”, which is never sent to our server. The website's own privacy policy applies there.
- Page access only when you ask: the extension reads the current tab only when you click its button, use its menu or its keyboard shortcut (the browser's “activeTab” permission).
Data we collect
None. The extension sends no analytics, telemetry, codes, images or page data to any server.
