NeoReader Reader ("the extension") is published by NeoReader, operator of neoreader.com.
What the extension does with your data
- Page access only when you ask. The extension reads the current tab only when you click its
button or press its keyboard shortcut (the browser's
activeTabpermission). It has no access to any other site or tab. - The article is extracted on your device. The reader view is built inside your browser from the page you already have open. Nothing is sent to NeoReader or anyone else.
- Read aloud uses your browser's built-in speech engine. Some browsers offer online voices (marked "online" in the voice list); if you pick one, your browser's maker processes the text as described in their own policy.
- Highlights are not kept by default. If you turn on "Remember highlights", your highlights for a page (the highlighted text and its position) are stored in your browser on this device only. Turning the option off deletes them all.
- Settings (theme, font, sizes, voice, speed) sync through your browser's own sync, if enabled.
Data we collect
None. The extension makes no network requests of its own, has no analytics or telemetry and loads no remote code.
