NeoReader Video Screenshot — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026
NeoReader Video Screenshot ("the extension") is published by NeoReader, operator of neoreader.com. It is private by default: no account, no analytics, and there is no screenshot server. Frames are processed in your browser.
What the extension does with your data
- Page access only when you ask. The extension reads the current tab only when you use its toolbar
button, its keyboard shortcut or its right-click menu (the browser's
activeTabpermission). It then finds the video on the page, copies the frame being shown into an image in your browser, and saves, copies or opens it as you chose. - YouTube. On youtube.com (including players embedded from it) the extension adds a camera button to the player. For this it runs a small script on YouTube pages. The script reads no page content except the player's own title and the caption text on screen when you capture a frame with captions turned on. You can turn the button off in the popup.
- Frames. A frame is saved to your computer, copied to your clipboard, or opened in the editor, at your choice. The most recent frame is also kept in the extension's own storage on this device so the popup can show it. The next capture replaces it, and it is deleted when the browser starts. A frame opened in the editor is deleted when the editor tab closes.
- Protected video. If a video is copy-protected or comes from a site that does not allow its pictures to be copied, nothing is saved and the extension says why.
- Settings (format, file name, captions, burst and so on) sync through your browser's own sync, if you have it turned on.
Data we collect
